Jane Ann Billings-Hunt

February 28, 1947– February 7, 2026

Jane Ann Billings-Hunt, age 78, passed away on February 7, 2026, at the Jack Byrne Center from complications following a heart attack. She was born in Sharon, Connecticut on February 28, 1947 to John and Mabel (McCarthy) Billings. She grew up in Pearl River, New York where she attended local schools. She went on to receive a BS in biology from Kueka College. She married Paul Hunt in June 1968. They had two children, John-Paul and Timothy.

Jane took great pride in her sons and strived to give them the best she could. She had a gift for sewing along with an avid imagination that she used to create everything from school play outfits to standout Halloween costumes. Some memorable highlights included Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, mad scientists, and a particularly clever tuxedo made to fit a stuffed animal. She was also a fantastic baker and made an incredible cheesecake. She also excelled at crafting and at decorating Christmas cookies with her children. She loved to dote on her granddaughters, especially buying them as many stuffies as their hearts desired.

Jane embraced her faith and spent many years worshipping at the Church at the Crossroads in North Haverhill, New Hampshire, at times serving in executive roles. Her faith manifested outwardly in a love and caring for others as well as an unmatched generosity. If someone was in need and it was within her power to give, she would.

Jane wore many professional hats throughout her life from research to stenographer before finally retiring as a hospital lab technician. Her childhood desire to be a cowgirl and experience the adventure of the old west led her to accepting a position late in her career in Roswell, New Mexico from where she was able to explore some of the places she had dreamed of as a child.

Jane is survived by her sons John (Danielle) and Timothy (Molly), and two granddaughters Anna and Sarah Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard (Bonnie) Billings.

Jane's family sends their thanks the staff at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Jack Byrne Center. Friends are invited to join her family at a celebration of life on July 26th at from 4:00-5:30 PM at the Abiding Place, 100 Horse Meadow Road in North Haverhill, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, please give your loved ones an extra hug today. We always want more time.
