Sue was born on November 12, 1948, in Woodsville, NH. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret (Bartlett) Plummer; her father, Nelson Plummer; and his wife, Isabelle.
Sue grew up in Newbury, VT, and graduated from Newbury High School. She went on to Castleton State College until she met and then married the love of her life, Raymond ¯ckypooner, on September 15, 1967. Together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage, living in Barre, Newbury, and South Ryegate, VT.
Sue and Rocky built a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories until his passing in January of 2021. Sue and Rocky shared a passion for traveling, visiting all fifty states, along with each of their capitol buildings. Their adventures took them across North America, Europe, and on many cruises. She treasured traveling in the winter to Arizona and visiting her brother and sister-in-law. She embraced new experiences wherever she went. Sue had an active and curious mind, often found solving crossword puzzles, word searches, sudoku, quizzes, or challenging her knowledge by watching Jeopardy.
A lifelong fan of the Boston Celtics, she also fondly remembered her own days playing basketball in high school. Known for her warmth and gift of conversation, Sue could strike up a friendly chat with anyone she met, whether at a store, sporting event, or during her travels. Above all, Sue loved her family deeply, especially the time she shared with her granddaughters. Her presence, humor, and love will be greatly missed.
Sue is also predeceased by her step-grandson, Corey Rico of Berlin, and her beloved Dalmatian, Max.
She leaves behind her sons, Jeff Spooner and his wife Lori (Bruso), and Tim Spooner and his wife Jen (Rico), as well as, her adored granddaughters, Ava Spooner and Olivia Spooner of Essex, VT, and Marisa Spooner of Bath, NH.
