Richard was born to Eugene and Alice (Brosseau) Dube’ on July 9th, 1953, in West Stewartstown, NH.
Richard moved from West Stewartstown to Quechee VT with his family who then moved to Bradford, VT when he was a young boy. He attended Bradford schools, including Bradford Academy, before starting his career as a dairy herdsman. Richard is well known for his knowledge of cattle. His career started with Orman ‘Red’ Thayer. Following an extensive tenure, he transitioned to Kimball Farm before concluding his career at Newmont Farm. Outside of work, Richard enjoyed the simple life and nature’s beauty. Richard had married young and had three children. After years of marriage, he divorced and met Marianne Cole. Together they built a sheep farm that they called Mountain View Coopworths. Richard loved birds, his favorite being the homing pigeon. He enjoyed taking his pigeons for long distances to release and race home. Often, the pigeon would beat him home, but when it did not, he would bask in the enjoyment of watching it return. Richard also dabbled in the bee industry. He shared the interest for the hobby with his brother-in-law “Harry.” You could often hear Richard making his famous owl hoot to let his grandchildren across the pond know he was outside for a visit. He took great pride in his grandchildren and left them with great memories and a scope of knowledge about his tricks and trades on the farm, bull frog hunting, hay forts, supreme pizza, phish food ice cream, fishing, gardening, bird watching, country music and nature’s beauty.
Richard's parents, his brothers Normand and Real Dube', and his sister Gail Tellier all passed away before him. His cherished grandson, Daniel Dube, also predeceased him.
Richard leaves behind his wife, Marianne Dube, along with three children, three stepchildren, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
