Charles E. "Chuck" "Poppy" Springsteen

Charles E. Springsteen “Chuck” “Poppy” passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by his family and loving wife of 65 years, Sarah. Chuck was born in Keyport, NJ in 1940 to Edward and Edna Springsteen. At a young age, they relocated to Bay Head and lived there for many years. Chuck attended Bay Head Elementary School and Point Pleasant Beach High School, where he graduated in 1959. Chuck then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and during that time he married his beloved wife of 65 years, Sarah Dickson in 1960. While stationed in Arlington, VA, they had 2 of their 3 children, Todd and Robin, at Bethesda Naval Hospital. After the Marine Corp, they moved to Bay Head where they had their third child, Scott, and also joined the Bay Head Police Department, where he protected and served and left his mark for 25 years. Upon retirement, Chuck and Saerah moved to their 60-acre homestead in Woodstock, NH. A lifelong carpenter, like his father before him, built a beautiful home in Bath, NH to create endless memories with his wife. They frequently had grandchildren visiting and Poppy showed them the beauty and simplicity of life in the mountains. Chuck and Sarahs dream.

Chuck is survived by his wife Sarah and his three children. Todd and his wife Patricia of Bay Head, Robin and her husband Thomas Moran of Point Pleasant and Scott of Bath, NH. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Loren, Eric, Ian, Dylan, Noah and Molly as well as his 2 great grandchildren, Sunny and Olin, his nieces and great-nephew along with close friends. Chuck also leaves behind his furry companion of 10years, Ruby. Chuck is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Edna Springsteen at Bay Head. The family will be holding a celebration of life in New Hampshire at a later date.
