Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on November 19, 1947, he was the son of Harold Norman and Eve Ann (Wilson) Ward. Norman grew up in Monroe and attended Monroe Consolidated School and McIndoes Academy.
Norman was a man who believed in a hard day's work. His early career included time at Pleasant View Farm and North Country Farms before he started his own sawdust business. He later worked for New England Power, where he served as the Supervisor of Connecticut Lakes. Dedicated to his community, Norman also served as the Monroe Police Chief.
Throughout his life, Norman was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He was a longtime Harley-Davidson rider and always kept a German Shepherd by his side. Though he lived in Pittsburg, NH, for a period, he returned to Monroe for his retirement to be closer to his family. Above all else, Norman’s greatest priority was providing for and spending time with those he loved.
He is survived by his two sons, Norman Robert Ward Jr. and Jeremy Wayne Ward, both of Monroe, NH; and two grandchildren, Jarrett Ward and Brittin Ward, also of Monroe, NH.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Gordon Ward, Paul Ward, and Dennis Ward, all of Monroe, NH, and Sandy Kaskey of North Port, FL, along with eight nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on May 9, 2026, at 11 AM.
