Freeman Kidder

Freeman Keith Kidder, age 85, passed away at his home Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Mr. Kidder was born in Hanover, NH, and raised in Bradford, VT, the son of the late Keith Albion Kidder and Nora Mae Thurston Kidder. He was a graduate of Bradford Academy Class of 1958.
He attended Vermont Tech to study civil engineering and studied in computer courses in Hanover. He was also a licensed surveyor. He worked on interstates and highways in VT and a hospital in Dartmouth, NH. He joined the Vermont Army National Guard in 1961 and served six years. He married Sheila Morey in 1961. He oversaw building the church building in Quechee, VT. He had served as preacher, teacher, and song leader at the Quechee Church of Christ and preached at other Churches of Christ as well. He retired and they moved to Henderson in 2006. He was currently a member of the South Jackson Church of Christ.
Mr. Kidder enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing things together with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sheila Ann Morey Kidder, a son Carleton Kidder and wife Cindy of Finger, a brother Fred Kidder of South Ryegate, VT, and three sisters: Mary Goodine of Concord, NH, Vera Merritt of Bradford, VT, and Alice Stockwell and husband Chester of Bradford, VT.
Funeral services with Military Honors were held Thursday, August 14 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Casey Chapel with Jim Gardner and Ray Pack officiating. Burial followed at Henderson City Cemetery.
