David grew up in Newbury on the Placey Farm. After graduating from Newbury High School, David married the love of his life, Eleanor Plummer, on July 21, 1961, and remained happily married for almost 65 years. When the time came, David purchased the family dairy farm and ran it until the end of 1988. He spent some time on the Oxbow Cemetery Board, and for the Newbury Village Water Board.
He loved his family, and he especially loved spending time with his sweetheart, Eleanor. David also like to oversee his properties, logged his own land, and made sure that everything was pristine; his hard work and dedication evident to all who drove past the picturesque farm. During the summertime he could also be found at the local racetrack.
David was predeceased by his parents, Freeman and Elnah Placey, and by his sister, Marilyn Wheeler.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of almost 65 years, Eleanor Placey; his sons, David A. Placey and wife Patricia of Enfield, NH, Duane Placey of Newbury, VT, and Steve Placey and wife Rebekah of Newbury, VT; his grandchildren, Thomas, Desiree, Lynne and Jamie; and 14 great grandchildren.
David will be laid to rest in the Oxbow Cemetery at a later time.
