Olympians. A graduate of Hanover High School in New Hampshire, Tim embarked on his teaching career outside of New York city after attending Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Moving to Tucson, AZ in pursuit of graduate degrees in American History, he began a second career as an academic counselor in the athletic department at the University of Arizona. Working with high level student-athletes in pursuit of academic and athletic success simultaneously proved challenging and rewarding enough for him to continue the role - first at Boston College and then at Louisiana State University.
After five years at LSU, Tim decided to return to his love of teaching middle school, taking a social studies position at Westdale Middle School in Baton Rouge, LA. An inner-city school of 1,300 students, Westdale served the entire diverse population of the city and offered many unique opportunities. In moving from teacher to Dean to Assistant Principal, Tim learned the administration of a large, complex school from the ground up, and giving up the 24-hour demands of Division I athletics allowed him to get back into coaching soccer and hockey - helping to start a middle school soccer program at two different schools. Eventually, the desire to return to his roots grew and he looked North, landing as principal of Richmond Middle School in Hanover, NH.
His return to the Upper Valley has included time on soccer fields throughout the area, as he works to give back to the game as both a high school referee in the fall, and a club coach in the spring. Meeting Oxbow students through coaching piqued Tim’s interest in the school system, and eventually led him to pursue his current position where he is thrilled to be joining such an outstanding community. Tim has two adult children and lives with his wife in Vermont.
We are confident Tim will be the passionate, visionary Middle School Principal that Oxbow High School is seeking to lead the next phase of their 7th and 8th grade evolution. His experiences and methodologies will support the whole student—academically, socially, and emotionally— and foster a culture of growth, consistency, and sustainability for both staff and students. Welcome to the OESU and OHS communities!
