Lots of Save the Dates at Tenney for Spring

May 2nd, Saturday at 4:00pm -The Newbury Historical Society & Tenney Library host a reading and discussion of the essays found in the book 2050: Vermonters Take a Swipe at the Future.. Come with your ideas of the future.


June 19th, Friday at 6:30pm- local author and JO publisher Michele Sherburne, who has written books about the Underground Railway in Newbury, Abolition, and will explain JUNETEENTH t to us.

All programs are accessible, free and will have a Q & A after. There will also be refreshments.

Now that it is getting warmer and we may be on our screened porches,remember that Tenney has lots & lots of adult puzzles for you to check out as you would a book. We also have many magazines for short reads, including small journals of mystery stories by Ellery Queen & Alfred Hitchcock. These have no ads!

We will be hosting our ANNUAL POETRY SLAM featuring our Newbury Elementary School students. This will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, starting at 1:15. Patents, grandparents, neighbors…everyone is welcome to this event.

We have renewed our free and reduced price passes available at the library. Please call ahead to make sure that the pass you want is still available as we only have one set for each venue. Fairbanks Museum, Vermont Institute of Natural Science, all Vermont State Parks and Historical sites passes are available- and a few more.
