In other news, the library’s after school activities have been keeping us very busy! From crafting, to listening to Harry Potter being read aloud, to the immensely popular Lego club, the library in the after school hours has become a place of hustle and bustle and much joy. It has been wonderful to see so many kids and families participating in these activities. As a reminder, the after school activities are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 - 4:30. Tuesdays are for crafting and board games, Wednesdays are for crafting and a read-aloud, and Fridays are for Lego Club. Snacks are always provided, thanks to generous donations from patrons and from Fairlee Community Arts. Please be mindful that children under nine years old cannot be in the library without a parent, guardian, caregiver, or otherwise responsible adult that the child’s guardian has made arrangements with.
Storytime continues every Thursday and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30. Now that summer is over, Saturday storytime is a great opportunity to visit the library if your kiddos are in school during the week, but Thursday’s story hour is a perfect time for those younger readers in Pre-K. Come and listen to some stories, sing some songs, and do a craft!
Finally, the library hosts adult craft evenings every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30. Projects include painting, collage, sculpting with air-dry clay, fiber arts, and so much more. Come enjoy a quiet evening hour with friends and community members, have a cup of coffee, and craft to your heart’s content. Not a patron of the library? Never visited us before? No problem. This and all of our events are open to all, and all are welcome. Perhaps this could be your chance to spend more time at the library or to visit us for the first time. We hope to see you there!
Hannah Young is the assistant librarian at Fairlee Public Library in Fairlee, VT.
