Check It Out At Tenney Library In Newbury, Vermont
By Mary Burnham
Things are really blooming at Tenney Library….starting with the free organic seeds that High Mowing Seeds has given us for our patrons to plant. Tenney pays the postage and you plant the veggies. What a deal!
Be sure to mark all the interesting programs that will be held in Newbury to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. I will not print everything in this entry, but save March 22nd for local Ian Clark’s interesting and beautiful program on his visit to Alaska and his relationship with the Puffins he observed there.
Watch for the date for a reading from Suzanne Lupen’s new book, Robins Come, farmers’ essays from the field. I think you will enjoy the photographs as well as the writing.
The Book Group will be discussing the book 2050, another book of essays by a number of Vermonters on what they expect Vermont's future to be like in 2050. Several of the writers will be at Tenney on Saturday, May 2nd, at 4:00pm. Do you have any ideas about what life will be like in 2050? Come and discuss your ideas.
Remember that we have many free and reduced passes for various places in Vermont that can be enjoyed now that the weather is getting warmer soon.
REMEMBER that April 15th is when our income tax returns are due. Tenney Library has the forms you need to fill out and the phone number you will need to call to make an appointment. AARP has trained these helpers and their services are free to you. Be sure to call ASAP. April 15th will be here before you know it.
Most of the information to help you know what is available at Tenney Memorial Library is on our website online. Remember that we offer free WiFi and free computers for you to use.
