Bethlehem Public Library Announces June Programs

Bethlehem Public Library has a full month of free programs planned for June, with events for children, adults, readers, hobbyists, and families. All programs are free and open to the public at Bethlehem Public Library, 2245 Main Street in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. For more information, call 603-869-2409 or visit www.bethlehemNHlibrary.gov.

Recurring programs continue into early June. Lego Club for kids ages 5 to 12 meets Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., with the final session on June 1. Arts & Crafts Club meets Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., with the final session on June 2. Children’s programs will go on hiatus after June 5 and return in the fall.

Adults can join Mah Jongg on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., while the “Let’s Talk” adult discussion group meets Fridays from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Tabletop Gaming Club meets Friday, June 5 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

June also includes several public meetings and special programs. The Friends of the Bethlehem Public Library meet Thursday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m., and the Library Trustees meet Monday, June 8 at 7 p.m. The Un-Book Club meets Saturday, June 6 at 11 a.m., offering a relaxed book discussion with no required reading.

Death Cafe will be held Friday, June 12 at 11:30 a.m., providing a respectful and confidential place to discuss death. On Monday, June 15 at 6 p.m., “Portraits of a Revolution,” part of NH Humanities’ US@250, will explore Revolutionary-era portraits and what they reveal about American culture.

Readers Cafe will discuss So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo on Wednesday, June 17 at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 20 at 9 a.m. Also on June 17 at 6 p.m., Chelsea Hanrahan presents “Investigative Genealogy and the DNA Doe Project.”

Other highlights include Beginner Beekeeping on Monday, June 22 at 6 p.m., Trivia Night on Wednesday, June 24 at 6 p.m., and the Annual Book Sale beginning Saturday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The month wraps up Tuesday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at the Colonial Theater with the Summer Reading Kick-Off, “Dinosaurs Rock with Mr. Aaron.”
