My Daughter's Bake Sale
By Susannah Kerest
Front Porch Forum hosts online newsletters in every town in Vermont. Neighbors, nonprofits, businesses, and government officials can post messages, share news, get advice, make recommendations, announce events, sell items, and much more. It's all about helping neighbors to connect and build community.
Annie posted on behalf of her daughter to promote a Sunday afternoon bake sale in Shelburne to help earn some money for a guitar. Then, she wrote this appreciation. We thought it was well worth a share:
"I wanted to take a moment to recognize how this community showed up for my daughter's bake sale this past Sunday. She was met with encouragement and words of guitar wisdom all while sharing some treats with her customers.
"She raised enough money to get a beautiful guitar (and a new band t-shirt too).
"This is the face of a happy girl just starting a new music journey!"
Each week, one posting is selected for its humor, storytelling, or community-building, and then shared throughout the state. And, now you can read it here in The Bridge Weekly.
