Celebrate What you Love

Everybody loves a holiday. There are just not enough official holidays, but that leaves room for us to create our own holidays. How to do that? First, find something that you love. Then celebrate whatever it is. So simple!

A friend of mine has recently taken my advice and created her own holiday. As a result of her experience, she has also just written a “Soon to be New York Times best seller” about pitfalls in holiday creating. Here’s how it happened.

My friend is a cat fancier and named her holiday “Cat Appreciation Day.” A neighbor’s cat had just had kittens, and my friend “ borrowed” one of them for the celebration. Returning the kitten could not be done in daylight due to the cat’s owner, but by means of a Seal-quality stealth operation, she returned the kitten to its mother, who promptly decided it was time to wean it and almost succeeded in returning it by express claw to my fast-moving friend. After that, my friend’s hospitalization following a larger experience with the young of cats, such as lions, tigers, jaguars, and cheetahs, indicated that these animals should not be admired up close but observed respectfully from a distance at your local zoo. Make sure it is not a petting zoo. In fact, all things considered, maybe we should just appreciate the celebrations already in place. It may be safer.
