Emily Paige Creighton-Pryer passed on June, 19th 2026. She was 56 years old. Emily was born September 28th, 1969, in Oakland, CA.
She graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in education in 1991. In 1994 Emily married Nick Pryer. She worked in early education until she gave birth to her second daughter. After moving to Bradford, VT in 2002, Emily decided to start her own business. She started Rabbitt Track Early learning academy in 2004.
She ran this business for 22 years until her passing.
Emily was a passionate supporter of the importance of early educations roll in providing a foundation for learning and self-worth in children. She was a strong supporter of early education workers’ rights and worked with Vermont Early Educators United and Bernie Sanders to try to get collective bargaining rights for home-based and state-subsidized childcare providers in Vermont. She was a strong supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and women’s rights for body autonomy.
She loved working with children and considered herself lucky to be able to spend her whole career doing so. She loved family life and spending time with immediate and extended family. She loved to travel both domestically and abroad. She loved reading and going to the movies and plays. She was a dedicated and loving mother, an incredible wife and a fierce and loyal friend and she will be sorely missed.
Emily is survived by her Husband, Nick Pryer her daughters Madison and Cassidy Pryer, her mother and father Susan Creighton and Guy Creighton, her brothers Michael Creighton, Frank Quinn, Eric Quinn, and Dan Quinn.
A celebration of life for Emily will be held at West Newbury Hall, 219 Tyler Farm Rd, Newbury, VT on Sunday, November 1st from 3-6pm.
